NVIDIA Reportedly Seeks 6G Base Station Partners in CN, Aims to Enter Trial Networks as Early as 2027
NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) is accelerating its foray into the telecom operator market and is seeking base station manufacturing partners in China to develop 6G base stations that meet overseas market requirements, with the aim of entering trial networks in 2027 or 2028, Jiemian News reported, citing sources.
NVIDIA purportedly believes computing power ultimately needs to rely on wireless transmission via base stations in order to transfer from data centers to massive numbers of AI terminals and users. The company is therefore searching for the “next ZJ INNOLIGHT (03308.HK)” in edge computing power.
Shenzhen Signalwing Technology is one of NVIDIA's developing base station partners, sources said. The two parties began contacts in 2025 and are jointly developing 6G AI-RAN base stations based on the NVIDIA CUDA ecosystem. Their cooperation has continued for more than six months, and a dedicated working group has already been formed, involving more than 10 NVIDIA personnel based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
TONGYU COMM (002792.SZ) acquired an approximately 25% stake in Shenzhen Signalwing Technology for RMB300 million on August 4.
Besides, the cooperation between Shenzhen Signalwing Technology and NVIDIA has reportedly entered the technology R&D stage. The duo may also establish a commercial entity jointly for overseas expansion.
